What we believe…
We are New Thought Christians.
There is some confusion about New Thought Christianity (“NTC”); I have been asked:
“What is that? crystals and psychics?”
“Do you all believe in God?”
“Do you use a bible?”
and a host of other questions that indicate that the “NTC” community is misunderstood.
Yes! we believe in God, and the teachings of Jesus.
Yes! we use a bible among other sacred teachings, and
Yes! we are Interfaith & Inclusionists.
We are a community with a progressive theological approach, which means that we look at the scripture and the scholarship of the bible.
We believe that all sacred teaching should be used to heal, restore and reconnect, not as a weapon or a tool of manipulation.
We believe that God has shaped us, and that we err in trying to shape God into a personality.
We believe that there is one power that we all share regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation.
We hold that true liberation is when we set ourselves on the path to love as God loves, all encompassing and without bias.
No, we are probably not the church of your childhood, but as Paul has indicated “...when I was a child, I spoke as a child, thought as a child, reasoned as a child..." indeed, now is the time for us to embrace a new and more evolved thought.
We will heal ourselves and the planet through a curious mind, a sincere and healthy spiritual practice and by learning to love without condition.
